Using Public Transport - France To Germany

By: Paolo Matzi

With millions of tourists, students and business travelers visiting Germany and France every year, the system of public transport France Germany has become an essential part of both the cultures and the economies. Rental cars are often expensive in both countries. Therefore, both boast economical mass transit options. With just a little effort to learn the system, the trains, buses and trolleys of France and Germany can get you where you wish to go.

Germany has an extensive and efficient public transport system, linking large cities and small towns and many stops in between. Whether you are arriving in Berlin, Hamburg or Frankfurt, many choices are offered, including high speed trains, buses and trolleys to get you where you want to go. Compared to the headache of driving in an unfamiliar area and taking the risk of getting lost, navigating the German public transportation systems can be easy and a great way to see of more of the passing sights as well.

In France, nearly everyone uses the trains to travel long and short distances. For areas not serviced by the railways, such as small towns and rural districts, bus lines may run from the train station to the town center. In Paris, many urban people use the Metro to get around. It is simple to get a book of ten tickets or a pass good for a set amount of time and travel all over the city.

As the number of automobiles increases, French and German roads often become clogged with traffic. By using the trains or trolleys, you can avoid this frustrating delay. Parking is also scare in most metropolises and is expensive if you are forced to pay to park. Also, gasoline and insurance add to the expense of driving a private car. Due to the extensive network of trains, trolleys and buses, this can be avoided altogether when traveling in Germany and France.

The high speed trains of French and Germany are often booked for overnight travel, sometimes to other European capitals. Passengers can book a sleeping compartment, but reservations are often required in advance. It is simple to go on the web and make these arrangements.

Often travelers rate these train trips as the best part of their journeys. They offer a chance to pass a pleasant evening, chatting with other passengers and wake up an entirely new place, rested and ready to go.

Public transport France Germany can help make your trip truly memorable. It may be easier and less expensive than renting a car and you might meet more locals and see more of the sights with someone else doing the driving. It takes a little effort to learn the system, but then you are free to move around the countries like a pro.
